18| When I Connect
I set myself free
This text was written in October 2022, when I was finding grounding again. Glad to see I have remained on this path.
Only when I connect with what matters can I take care of myself. Connected with my values, I recognize the "no's" that need to be said to every potential energy thief. In my personal life, I have a clearly defined invisible line, also known as a "boundary." Boundaries are the best friend of connection. Constantly vigilant, my husband has affectionately nicknamed me "robot" and "the No woman": "I don't want to," "I'm not going to," and "not today, and probably not tomorrow either" are phrases I use without fear, with the courage of someone who protects themselves.
As for my professional life… well, everyone has their weak spots, right? Recently, I’ve made decisions that go against the marketing gurus but towards my values.
When I recognize my deep needs, it's easier to let go of what others consider success.
When I understand my limits, it's easier to let go of the vanity of numbers.
When I know there's no finish line, letting go of quick money is easier.
When I understand that needing is different from desire, I set myself free.

Your turn
What are your true needs?
What desires of others have you taken on as your own?
If you could describe a peaceful life, what would it look like? What depends on you to make it happen, and what doesn't?
